Opening night on 9 September 2014, MU Theater / Budapest, HU

After Dawn’s bare and radical corporeality, Conditions of Being a Mortal can be characterized as a physicality attached to an emotional chain that takes place between four dancers during the play. In their trance created by continuous motion, the subconscious opens up. From the relentless movements a bold yet delicate game emerges that is not afraid of taboos. The dancers are entangled both in their costumes and their own personal history in situational situations. Through them, we can observe patterns of behavior that apply to all of humanity. These fragments exist in exactly an infinite cycle, not unlike the performance that doesn’t really have a beginning or an end either.

Conditions of Being a Mortal (movement I. and movement III.) has been selected into 2014 Priority Companies by Aerowaves.
